Ramadan Rituals 2018

The holy month of Ramadan is something we look forward to all year, and it is already upon us. For many of us fortunate ones, the long hours of fasting are made easier with proper meals at Iftar and Sehri, because we can afford them. We also fill up our wardrobes with new clothes to celebrate Eid. Sadly, the same cannot be said for many others. People will be fasting in the scorching heat with not much to eat or drink at other times. These people barely have enough clothes to wear every day, the prospect of new clothes for Eid is out of the question!
If that seems unfair and heart-breaking to you, join this annual event hosted by Durnibar Foundation.
Our event “Ramadan Rituals” will be done on three segments:
1. Eid Clothes Distribution (10 am to 1 pm) – We’ll distribute new clothes among many poor children in Dhaka for Eid-ul-Fitr
2. Hand full of Happiness (2 pm to 5 pm) – We’ll apply Mehedi on hands of many poor children in Dhaka for free and also raise funds for this event. Volunteers (females) who are good with henna will participate in applying henna (Mehedi). Other volunteers (male or female) are needed convincing people to give the Mehedi.
3. Iftar with Orphans (6 pm to 8 pm) – We’ll have Iftar with a few orphans at Cognito.

*You’ll have to wear our Durnibar T-shirt which you’ll be given on the event day.
*Certificates will be given to volunteers who participate in this event.
If you don’t volunteer, do take part in our event by getting your hand designed! Giving a full hand Mehedi from a parlour costs usually around 1000 Taka, but you can do it here at much cheaper rate!
You also may wish to attend Iftar with Orphans only.
