What is Code Quake?
With its position at the edges of several active tectonic plates, Bangladesh could not be more highly prone to earthquakes. Despite this, the Bangladeshi populace have not held out well. A profound lack of proper schooling has resulted in mass ignorance regarding the correct protocols to follow in the case of an earthquake. People have been known to suffer from mass hysteria, with some even going so far as to jump off their balconies.

That is where we come in. It is our ultimate priority to bridge this information gap, to aid the uninformed so they can be better prepared to deal with nature’s wrath. We intend to accomplish this via a series of workshops among various partner schools. Our workshops will feature interactive instruction sessions regarding the three stages of an earthquake: before, during and after. With this initiative, we hope to arm these students with the knowledge to save both themselves and their loved ones when disaster strikes.

Launching of “Shaking Bangladesh” :

Code Quake will serve as the first event of many within our newly designed awareness campaign series, Shaking Bangladesh. As such, to welcome YOU, our volunteers, for this pioneering project, we have organized an opening ceremony.

This launching event will consist of three key portions:

First, an interactive informational session with our esteemed speakers, with the sole purpose being to prepare you for your tasks.

Second, a motivational session, where you will be given the opportunity to gain key insight from our honorable speakers, and consequently, be armed with the skills required to make a change in our society.

Third, a surprise! An entertainment session, where you will be able to wind down with our speakers. Beyond that, we will not disclose much else regarding this session, after all, we wouldn’t want to spoil your excitement!

So, volunteers, join us as we kickstart Shaking Bangladesh and fulfill your potential to become one of the community leaders of tomorrow.
