Hunger Action 2016

Hunger Action is the annual fund raising leg of our hunger relief project Feeding Bangladesh. Like last year, with the theme “NO CHILD HUNGRY,” we will aim to raise enough funds to feed underprivileged families for one year under this project. Hunger Action is followed up by the bimonthly food distribution event “Save The Starving.”

This year, more than 80 million children in Bangladesh will face hunger. That’s one in two. Durnibar Foundation is working to connect hungry kids with the food they need to grow and thrive by the project Feeding Bangladesh. We’re doing our part to connect kids to the healthy food they need every day. Every taka we raise makes a huge impact for kids. In fact, just 2000 taka can help connect a family with meals for one month.

So, what’s your role?

On 15th of December, you will approach the commuters on the road and spread the message of hunger and our role as responsible citizens.

You’ll notice the registration fee is a very reasonable – BDT 220 (existing volunteers who have the t-shirt) and BDT 300 (for new volunteers who don’t have our t-shirt). That’s because we are hoping you will make a donation of any amount in addition to the registration fee. The reason we are asking this is that 100% of the funds go directly to Feeding Bangladesh and will be used to connect hungry kids with the food they need. All of it. Every taka.

*The registration process is simple and reasonable as always:
STEP 1: Register online at http://durnibarfoundation.org/ha2016/
STEP 2: Post preferred signal point on the event page so that we can match your form records with your Facebook profile and confirm your application.
STEP 3: If you are selected, you will be notified shortly by a SMS or a phone call to come to our office with a recent copy of your passport size photo, your registration fee and a valid photo ID to fill up your form and complete your final registration.

Final registration is going on at Durnibar Foundation office (House: 25, Arcadia Apartment, Road: 10A, Dhanmondi) between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. which you can do after your online registration is confirmed.

Make sure you hurry up as we are limiting the number of volunteers this year to 1000. This means only the first 1000 volunteers to register will be selected for participation. Only a few spots are left!

Additionally, please stay in touch and updated with our event page at all times since we will soon update details of our workshop which includes the timings and venue.

*Take note that volunteers are expected to attend any one of the workshops and bring their REGISTRATION RECEIPTS along with them.

** Volunteers will get lunch on event day and will receive certificates for participation on the same week.
