Donate NowThrough our coat program, Durnibar Foundation is dedicated to helping families in need. We believe that every child deserves to feel warm, healthy and valued. The important gift of a new winter coat provides children with the freedom and confidence to play more, learn more, and do more.
When the leaves start to turn beautiful colors, the air is gets colder and our clothes get heavier, Durnibar Foundation strives to lend a helping hand to those in need. Having warm clothes to wear during the harsh winter days is something to which many of us do not give a second thought. Some families are not able to afford winter clothes and only YOU can help them by submitting clothes to us or by donating some money!
By far, Durnibar Foundation donated nearly 25,000 items through the Winter Clothes Drive. Given how cold the months of January and February were, our supplies of blankets, warm clothing and related items were in high demand as were our winter coats. With your help, we can raise more winter gear and donations to buy more.
We are collecting the following for men, women, and children:
“In these tough economic times words cannot express the impact that Durnibar Foundation had on the poor families. Seeing the appreciation on the faces of parents and children shows the need for these services. We are glad to have been a part of this wonderful experience and hope that with Durnibar Foundation we are able to keep poor families warm for years to come.” – Tawsif Alam Khan, Managing Director, Vertical Horizon

“Feeding BANGLADESH” is the biggest project of Durnibar Foundation to end hunger all over Bangladesh and root out child malnutrition. Started on the 1st of October, 2014, it is going to be continued forever.
By carrying out this project, Durnibar Foundation ensures the following:
In order to solve Hunger crisis, we are doing the following:
Nutrition & Education:
Every month we are holding an event named “Save the Starving” where we are giving some families food which will last the whole month. These families will be provided with food on a regular basis till their children start earning and supporting them. The characteristics of these families are:
City Campaigns:
Every hunger day, our volunteers wade across the streets of Dhaka city. They raise awareness, generate revenue & rally a national movement around the issue of childhood hunger and Feeding Bangladesh.
Public Awareness, Outreach & Advocacy:
Every year, in September (the Hunger Action month), Feeding Bangladesh will provide meals to street people for the whole month. The volunteers will visit schools all around Dhaka city to raise awareness of Hunger problem and bring in more people to work for solving the crisis.
Community Investment:
In September, the volunteers will also visit several institutions and corporations all around Dhaka to collect donations for Feeding Bangladesh.
So, via ONE project we are achieving 5 goals: (5) ENSURING FOOD SECURITY & GOOD NUTRITION; (4) ENSURING HEALTHY LIVES as people are getting healthy food; (3) PROVIDING QUALITY EDUCATION & LIFELONG LEARNING by sending the children to school; (8) CREATING JOBS because after getting educated, these children can get jobs; (1) ENDING POVERTY –as they get jobs, they can support their families and hence reduce poverty. We are also STOPPING CHILD LABOR.
In the near future, we will increase the number of families to whom we will be providing food. Afterwards, we will expand our project outside Dhaka city to other districts.
